Firefox is a great browser. IMHO, I think that it is the best one out there right now. It's free and open source. It is quite fast and has many great features like pop up blocking, builtin RSS, etc. It is also safer than other browsers out there. It does not load ActiveX and other vbscript functions due to the security risks. I love Firefox and use it everyday!

Beginners shouldn't be scared of installing firefox on their computers. It's easy, free, and is the best browser available right now!

Firefox is single-handedly bringing our corporate spyware rate down in drastic amounts. We have had rave reviews from everyone who has had a chance to work with it (from beginner to expert). Internet users are learning that you do not need to be stuck with Internet Explorer - take a step to something better and more secure. Best of all, Firefox may be installed alongside Internet Explorer. It copies your Explorer settings so the transition is quick and easy. Nothing to lose!

Beats IE and Opera hands-down, but can coexist with them. Safer, faster, better. Not trying Firefox would be a mistake!

[2004-12-27 15:33:27 ] great browser but be careful --- - rspickles
Our agency uses this browser only - on both our Win2k and Suse computers -- One thing to keep in mind is that the extentions are not checked out by Mozilla.org -- so be careful when adding extentions. We have used the following extentions and have had no problmes so far... Immage Zoom, Nuke anything, Copy Plain text user agent seitcher.

[2004-12-27 20:23:20 ] FBI Research Lab uses Firefox - lucas
I worked at an FBI sponsored computer research laboratory while I finished my last two degrees. While I was there we were rewriting the national DNA database, very sensitive stuff. Windows boxes used Firefox because security was paramount, LINUX boxes used Firefox too because it beats the pants off of Konqueror.

[2004-12-28 06:48:04 ] AdBlock is essential - robdbell
Try the AdBlock extension as mentioned in the overview of FireFox. Once you use it you'll wonder how you ever tolerated web sites in other browsers. It allows you you completely remove unwanted ads from web sites ina very easy and flexible manner. Awesome! Great easy browser. Lots of extentions to get it just the way you like. Free and open-source. I rarely use IE except when misinformed business accounts don't allow anything else. I just loaded version 1.5 - only minor annoyance is that some extensions like cookie culler and spoof site no longer work.
